I've had a lot of people approach me lately and say, "Babymoon...what?" Like they haven't heard the term before. Maybe we are pioneers in this new trend! All I know is I wanted one last adventure with my sweetheart before our lives are forever changed :)
So we chose Hawaii! Oahu, to be exact. I lived on the Big Island, and have visited Maui, so Oahu sounded like fun. When I first heard of a babymoon, it sounded like something luxurious, relaxed, and ridiculous all at the same time. The thing is, I don't really know HOW to relax. Most of you know I am one of the most high-strung people around. So we put our own spin on the babymoon trend. We ran around Oahu (I think we made at least three complete laps around the entire island). Between all the hiking, swimming, paddle-boarding, and walking, I definitely got my exercise! We found some amazing places that were completely off the map, which I, of course, had to take advantage of for maternity photos! We found the coolest broken down buildings in the ghost town of Waialae, next to Crawford's convalescent house. This huge old jail house from 1916 was COVERED in graffiti. Trees were growing in and out of windows, and there was a grand freaking piano sitting in the main room. PHOTOGRAPHER'S PARADISE! I have to give Jake props. He has a great eye and completely rocked all the images he took of me.
I carried my cameras everywhere, documenting Hawaiian life as I once knew it. Had to share some of my favorite moments with you all. With the babymoon officially behind us, I can say that I am completely ready for this new chapter in my life and while I will never be as flamboyantly adventurous as before, having Isaac here is going to be a roller-coaster adventure all on its own!
