I had the privilege of meeting Eli and Ella the other night. I spent some time playing with them at the park while Mama hung out in the studio with baby Craig (images from his newborn session to come). One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to chase kids around. I love capturing the huge personalities they hold in those tiny little bodies. These two were the sweetest siblings and it was obvious they just loved each other and their baby brother. Eli was a little shy at first, while Ella was all about hamming for the camera. It was fun to watch them interact as brother and sister. Sam confided in me that Ella has a disorder that causes paralysis in her hands and feet from time to time. She would never be active or participate in P.E. with the other kids in her grade. It broke my heart to hear, but I never would have guessed from the time I spent with her and Eli. There was one point during our shoot that Ella went tumbling down the grassy hill and scuffed herself on the pavement. She was brave though, and not one tear escaped her eyes. Eli was right on her heels to pick her up as soon as she went down. Such sweet brotherly love. We shot until the thunderstorm rolled in. As soon as the first crack of lighting hit their ears, they became ecstatic. I love their dramatic gestures as the rain drops hit the pavement like pellets. I'll never forget Ella's cute voice as she ran around in circles, "It' raining! Can you hear the rain drops? Can you hear them?!"
Thank you for bringing them to me, Sam. You have the most adorable children ever.
